I once read that FEAR is actually just False Expectations Appearing Real. This knowledge has helped me a lot especially when it came to talking in front of people. Over the years since becoming a travel coordinator, my talking skills have developed a hundred-fold, making it almost impossible to imagine what life was like back when I was too shy to even look at people in the eye.
But, one must ask.. does the same hold true for those who have acrophobia or the fear of heights? With the advent of the zipline, it is now easy for people with acrophobia to face their fear. Especially here in Bukidnon, where only just the Longest Dual Zipline in Asia can be found.
The first segment is the 320m line: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leZXthibYww
Welcome to Dahilayan, home of Zip Zone Dahilayan Adventure Park, Forest Park and Saddle Ridge Camp. Here one can find almost every possible land adventure activity thought of by man: a 3-course zipline for all ages (2 y.o. minimum), an elevated obstacle/rope course, a strap-in zorb, a water zorb, horseback riding, an atv course, buggies, an off-road vehicle adventure, a couple of bungee trampolines, a treetop adventure, fishing and a pine tree forest park filled with lifelike animal statues. Being built are a bungee tower and a giant swimming pool for God knows what else the owners have in mind. All three parks each have their own hotel and restaurant.
The second line is the shortest at 150m: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfCdwFBL9ZU
Incidentally, the owners are three brothers – Engr. Elpidio Paras (Zip Zone), owner of Parasat Cable in CDO; Engr. Ruben Paras (Saddle Ridge), owner of G&P Builders; and Hon. Jess Paras (Forest Park), owner of Paras Seacat. Their parents migrated to Cagayan de Oro in the early years and soon became one of the most progressive families in the city, putting up businesses well before their time and proving that you didn’t have to follow a trend to be successful. From the looks of it, they started the trend. Some of these ventures still in existence are: Paras Beach Resort in Camiguin and Gazebo Restaurant along A. Velez St., CDO City.
