You know what they say – if you’re a Filipino, and you go anywhere in the world, you’ll probably meet someone you also know somehow (i.e. like the cousin of the officemate of your high school classmate’s brother’s girlfriend’s best friend).
Well, I know someone – a Filipino in the US – one who has lived there more years than he has lived in the Philippines, and has even brought his family there.. in fact his girls are already grown up and one is already working!
This man is an achiever, having excelled at Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School in Bukidnon, both academically and in the arts, then went on to the most prestigious all-boys high school in Cagayan de Oro at the time – Xavier University – and got his diploma in Broadcast Communication from the University of the Philippines (Diliman) and an MBA from Pepperdine University (California).
His story is one of triumph, having started from the bottom (selling Avon products and washing dishes) and working his way to the top (Executive at Sony-Columbia Pictures). Is it possible his story will be told onscreen? I certainly hope so!
What did he do? To give you an idea, read this: http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118042910?categoryid=13&cs=1&cmpid=RSS|News|LatestNews
